Mountain Dew 250 Driver Quotes
Mountain Dew 250 winner Todd Bodine, No. 30 Lumber Liquidators Toyota
"I'm just glad to come out on top for a change. I've always run well at Daytona and Talladega, I just never quite got it done. I finally got it done today. That's the best part about this whole thing.
"It was pretty close. I knew Rick was out there, but I couldn't see his hood, so I knew we had won. He had a great run. He just came up a little short.
"This is Talladega. It just lends itself to great finishes. Where the start-finish line is and the way the track is. And in the trucks especially, because the draft is so big. The trucks punch such a big hole in the air that you can really wait a long time to make a move and get by a guy.
"Rick timed it just a little too late. If the start-finish line was down another couple 100 yards, he probably would have been by me. He almost timed it perfectly. It's just the way Talladega is. It's a great place to race, and a great show for the fans."
Second-place finisher Rick Crawford, No. 14 Power Stroke Diesel by International Ford
"I would have loved to be in Victory Lane. I thought I made the right move. If I second guessed myself or looked in the rear view mirror, I would have done it the same way. The Ford F-150 was home alone in the top five today with that foreign brand that Johnny drives and Todd drives and the other guys in the top five. Some bold moves today and a bold move there at the end to try to make it exciting for the fans in my home state of Alabama."
Third-place finisher Johnny Benson, No. 23 Toyota Certified Used Vehicles Toyota
"I knew he was going to make a break and I had to suck off of him enough to try to get off the 30 to try to go down on the inside. If (Rick) would have had a manufacturer behind him the same as him, he would have gone on by. I just tried to win the race myself. I just cut across the track. I thought we were going to get there. I thought we ran second. Between first, second and third, it had to of been pretty tight."
Top finishing Raybestos Rookie finisher and sixth-place finisher Willie Allen, No. 13 Thorsport Chevrolet
"Man, I can't say enough about how hard these guys have worked and Duke and Ronda Thorson giving us what we needed. We've had so many mechanical problems. I feel like I talk to you every week about that but they got that fixed this week. Our engines were so stout. Man, what a race. It was so much fun. We stayed out there and lasted the whole race and learned. The guys have been working so hard to try to win the Raybestos Rookie of the year deal and move up in points and overcome and try to get ready for next year. I just can't say enough."
