ARCA RE/MAX Series 250 Driver Quotes
Michael Annett, ARCA RE/MAX Series 250 Winner and driver of the No. 28 Pilot Travel Centers Toyota
"I knew they were going to try something (on the final lap). Colin came to the outside of me going through the trioval. We kind of got together. I just kept my left side on the yellow line, and when we got together it slowed down his momentum. Then Frank (Kimmel) decided to go with me, and that really helped.

"I just tried to hug that yellow line. I kept waiting for that orange car (of Kimmel's) to pop out (to pass), and it never did. Frank raced me clean. You can't ask for more out of your competitors.

"This track is pretty prestigious. To get your first ARCA win here is pretty cool, with all the history of this track and all the previous winners. It definitely takes a lot of patience to win at a track like this.

"I don't know if I'd call myself a fast learner, but I have great teachers, and that definitely helps. You walk out of the garage with more confidence with a team like Bill Davis. It definitely helped a lot.

"This was definitely a stacked field, when you look at the entry list. There were a lot of heavy hitters with a lot of horsepower and a lot of Cup backing. So you knew it was going to be a tough race. That just makes it all the better to get a win here.

"It was a learning experience throughout the race. We got shuffled back early, but I found out what the car needed to get back up front. And once we got up there, we pretty much stayed there."

Frank Kimmel, ARCA RE/MAX Series 250 Runner-up and driver of the No. 46 Pork-Fort Dodge Animal Health-Greenheck Ford
"It was definitely a points-race day. But when Michael (McDowell) had trouble, it kind of opened the door to go up and try to contend for the win. The car was really strong all day. We were able to run right there with those guys.

"I think the fastest car won the race. Michael (Annett) did a nice job. He was really fast. We just couldn't quite team up enough to pass him. I was able to get by Colin (Braun) right there at the very end, and then almost made it (past Annett), but didn't quite.

"It's cool to lock up our ninth championship. We had to work very, very hard. He (McDowell) actually outran us most of the year. He was very quick at a lot of places. He beat us up pretty bad at times. We were just able to be a little more consistent and finish more races.

"I have to compliment the field. I thought it was a very, very clean race. We were running two-wide probably 80 to 90 percent of the time, especially back in the pack. A lot of two- and three-wide racing, and very little problems."

Dominick Casola, Third-place finisher and driver of the No. 1 Casola Farms Ford
"I'd never drafted with anyone before. So this weekend definitely paid dividends. We started in the middle, fell to the back, and I tried to work my way back up there. My car was real strong all day. I just haven't had a lot of experience on these restrictor-plate tracks.

"I knew I had to keep my position and maintain where I was (on the final laps). I wasn't giving up the bottom for anything, because if I went to the outside, I'd get freight-trained. So I was just trying to hold the line and follow them to the checkered and see what happens."

Richard Johns, Fourth-place finisher and driver of the No. 39 BeavEx Ford
"For a first time at Talladega and a first time in a restrictor plate race, that was pretty wild just like you see on TV. I've got a lot of respect for these guys that race like Frank Kimmel. It was a great race. We were beating and banging there those last 20 laps. That's what we had to do. It was a lot of fun and I can't wait to come back here. I learned a ton. You can sit and play video games but there's nothing like real track time."

Dario Franchitti, 17th-place finsher and driver of the No. 42 Target Dodge "I gained a huge amount of experience learning from the start of the race. Not being able to pass on the left hand side on the very first start. Everybody checked up in front of me and I had no where to go and it continued all day. The first part of the race I was drafting like an Indy car. I was getting up behind people and then I figured out it was more important who was pushing you than who is in front of you. Once I figured that out I was getting into side drafting and everything started to come together."

"I got involved in the bump drafting. You should see the front of the car. Chip came on the radio and spoke to Juan and said the only way you are going to get to the front is by bump drafting a little bit. I was bump drafting. Bryan my teammate and I got involved in some of that and then the 8 car was really helping me, pushing towards the front. That was a completely new feeling to do that. But what difference does it make? It's just massive. Just getting use to everything and trying the high line and the low line. There was a point there where I got in the right lane every time and then I started to get in the wrong lane every time. Just experience."

"I don't know what's next. I'm going to stay here this weekend and get on the radio and listen to the Cup guys, ask a lot of questions. Next week, the team will decide exactly what they want me to do.

"It was a lot of fun out there. I'm disappointed with the result, but what I've learned, I don't think you can put a price on it. I learned so much today. I'm looking at the long game. I'm looking at next year. From that point of view, I'm very happy. I'm a little disappointed because I think the Target guys deserved a better result than that.

Scott Speed, Seventh-place finisher driver of the No. 21 Red Bull Toyota
"It was incredible. There was so much going on there. It's such a contrast from what I've been use to my whole life running in open-wheel stuff. Overall experience was fantastic. I'm super happy now that I've started my mission towards becoming a top NEXTEL Cup driver. It's great to have started everything. I've got so much information to digest over the next days and now when I watch the Cup race, after I've done it myself, I'll be able to learn a lot more."
