Fans Urged To Make Note Of Race Weekend Traffic Schedule & Heightened ADA Parking Enforcement

Talladega Superspeedway will welcome fans this week for the UAW-Ford 500 event weekend October 5-7, 2007 and track officials ask fans to make note of the facility's traffic schedule in advance. In addition, fans should also be aware that law enforcement is heightening its regulation of ADA parking compliance, and violations will not be tolerated.

The following schedule summarizes important elements of the track's schedule and traffic plan:

Thursday, October 4:

  • Grandstands and Day Parking Lots will be closed to the public.
  • The infield will open at 5 a.m.

Friday, October 5:

  • Traffic on Speedway Blvd. will flow in normal direction all day.
  • Grandstands open at 8 a.m.
  • Day Parking Lots behind the frontstretch grandstands open at 7 a.m. Friday.
  • After the ARCA RE/MAX Series 250 race, traffic will be routed out of the track's main entrance & Old Jackson Trace Road.

Saturday, October 6:

  • Day Parking Lots open at 5 a.m.
  • Grandstands open at 8 a.m.
    NOTE: On Saturday, the following Day Parking Lots will not be open: North Day Parking Lots 1N, 2N, 3N & 4N And Lot 11W
  • Starting at 8 a.m., all traffic on Speedway Blvd. approaching the track from the west will be one-way, with regular traffic patterns used for traffic approaching from the east.
  • After the Mountain Dew 250 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race, Speedway Blvd. traffic will be one-way west bound, with eastbound traffic routed two-way. Any traffic approaching the superspeedway at this time will have to do so from the east.

Sunday, October 7:

  • Day Parking Lots open at 5 a.m.
  • Grandstands open at 9 a.m.
  • Starting at 7 a.m., all eastbound and westbound traffic on Speedway Blvd. is routed in toward the main entrance, one-way.
  • After the UAW-Ford 500 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race, all eastbound and westbound traffic on Speedway Blvd. will be routed out one-way.

ADA PARKING INFORMATION
Talladega Superspeedway provides ADA Parking for guests with disabilities who have the appropriate, valid state-issued plates or placards. The accessible lots are HC1 and HC2, located on the south end of the track near turn one, behind the O.V. Hill South Tower near Gate EP4; HC3 and HC4 located at the north end of the track near turn 4, behind the Gadsden Tower and O.V. Hill North Tower near Gates EP1 and EP3; and for guests in the Allison Grandstand, HC5 located on the east side of the track near Gate EP8.

Talladega Superspeedway provides these lots in order to make attending a race an enjoyable experience for all people and asks that all guests be respectful of state laws governing the use of ADA parking spaces and permits. Law enforcement officers will be watching for vehicles that are not permitted in these lots, including those without the appropriate state-issued plates or placards as well as those who unlawfully use such permits.

Talladega Superspeedway will welcome fans back for the UAW-Ford 500 event weekend set for Oct. 5-7, 2007, featuring 1,000 miles of racing in 3 days. The weekend begins with the ARCA RE/MAX Series 250 on Friday, Oct. 5, followed by the Mountain Dew 250 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race on Saturday, Oct. 6. Then on Sunday, Oct. 7, NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series teams will compete in the UAW-Ford 500, race four in the Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup. Kids age 11 and younger are admitted free of charge on Friday and Saturday of race weekends in the general admission grandstands at Talladega Superspeedway.
